Chicken Curry Monty Python
Profile#
This is a recipe from a book that has been modified slightly. The author is as me a fan of Monty Python. You may add a special taste by the Thai Sauce. Together with the oven vegetables and rice you have a perfect and delicious menu in less than an hour.
Ingredients#
- 600g chicken breast
- 1 spoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika powder
- 1/2 teaspoon galangal powder (if you don’t have that use a bit more of the curry powder)
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 spoon curry powder
- 2 onions
- a bit ginger
- 500ml vegetable soup (instant)
- 1 glas mango chutney
- Creme Fraiche
- Butter
Let’s go#
Cut the onions pretty fine and chop the ginger:
Put the spices and the flour on a plate and mix them properly.
Cut the chicken breast into 2cm wide slices.
Turn over the final chicken slices in the spices-flour mixture. They should be covered completely and the mixture should be enough. If you still have some remaining mixture you can add it to the pot later.
I use an instant vegetable soup. Prepare it, the chutney and the Creme Fraiche, we need them soon.
Slowly fry the onions and the ginger in 2 spoons of butter. Not too hot as we will add them later again at a high temperature.
Remove the onions and the ginger, add some more butter and increase the heat. Fry the meat in portions, not all of them at once. The spices may stick at the bottom but don’t worry.
If everything has been fried put all meat and the onion-ginger mix back into the pot. Add the chutney, it will get liquid and you can remove the spices from the ground of the pot.
Now add a quarter of the vegetable soup and mix properly. Put on the lid and cook slightly for 10 minutes.
Add the remaining vegetable soup and the Creme Fraiche. Cook again for 10 minutes with the lid on top.
Remove the lid and continue for 5 minutes. The sauce should get a perfect consistency.
The curry is ready.
The oven vegetables are a perfect match. You may also add some of the Thai Sauce to the curry and the vegetables.
After such a nice food you may want to enjoy a YouTube movie of Monty Python. Try this:
